Summary

Self-care needs our intentionality and leadership. This workshop will highlight the stages of burnout, elements of stress that exist within your climate and culture, and how associations executives, leaders, volunteers, and Boards can manage the signs and impact to development and implementation of programs, events, product cycles, and services. Insight on self-care needs and the leadership strategies needed to maximize success during these tumultuous times is being considered.

Mariama S. Boney

As an avid volunteer leader in the association community, her church, and past state president of a higher education association her mission is to assist executives advance and volunteer leaders succeed. Committed to maximizing results Mariama Boney, LMSW, CAE, CPEC celebrates over 20 years as an educational administrator, association executive, facilitator, and consultant, serving in four associations, five universities, and three non-profits. A facilitator of organizational transitions, Mariama guides individuals to move through discomfort so they can find shared purpose and create frameworks for constructive dialogue and action planning. She provides training and consulting in leadership, teams, diversity, equity, inclusion, and access, as CEO of Achieve More, LLC, a small women and minority-owned consultancy. Her commitment to fostering initiatives with the DEIAA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access, and Accessibility) sector stems from a personal passion for race equity, dialogue, leadership, and coaching. Mariama has facilitated comprehensive multicultural programs, leadership and diversity strategy, organizational transformation, partnerships, membership development, and grants for faculty, staff, students, partners, boards, volunteers, and the community. She is the author of VENT - I’m Worth It: A Journey to Refocus, Realign and Restore and VENT - I’m Worth It: Leadership Edition.
