    Amanda Annis

Amanda Annis is the founder and managing consultant of the marketing group Brand Writer Co. An intuitive communicator, Amanda brings knowledge and experience in business operations, sales & marketing, and social media management to her clients; her specialty is helping businesses meet customers' needs and business goals through relationship marketing. At BWCo., Amanda oversees content solutions designed to position a business as the ultimate destination for target customers and premier talent. How did Amanda become a womanpreneur? After working for several years in the leadership development field, first in the not-for-profit and then private sector, Amanda quickly learned how to apply fundamental coaching and communication skills to draw out and position key information. She decided to capitalize on this skill, noticing a pattern in online marketing, where company information was routinely inconsistent across channels. She decided to help businesses align their company mission, so the "inside" matched the "outside" to tell a consistent story people could trust, rely on and ultimately want to be a part of. Prior to Brand Writer Co., Amanda consulted as Manager of Projects & Communications for a mid-size bookkeeping & accounting firm, overseeing their brand & website overhaul, streamlining corporate communication and leading team engagement. After a successful contract, Amanda launched Brand Writer Co. in 2019 and helped clients in finance, residential & commercial construction, logistics & distribution among others. In 2021, Amanda was asked to serve as Director of Communications for TEDxOttawa - a great honor. During her tenure, she helped craft a new brand story for the organization that will help TEDxOttawa attract renowned talent and ideas distinct from other local chapters. Amanda lives, works and plays in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, but she is a country girl at heart. She grew up on a farm, driving stick-shift field cars and as a result, you may find her out at the track when she's not at her desk.
