About Our Speaker: OFC Travis Jepson is a 13 year veteran of the Topeka Police Department where he has spent the majority of his career as a patrol officer and patrol supervisor. He has also served as a Community Police Officer and as a supervisor in the Violent Crime Unit. His current position is the Rangemaster and Armorer for the Topeka Police Department where he instructs firearms training and various tactics for the Topeka Police Department Academy as well as continuing education in-service for all officers of the department. Along with those positions, OFC Jepson has also been a member of the Topeka Police Department's Response Team (SWAT) for 9 years where has ascended to Assistant Team Leader and currently as the Assistant Precision Rifle Team Leader.
Officer Jepson is a Law Enforcement Response to the Active Shooter instructor where his focus is preparing first responders with tactics to mitigate an active shooter/killer incident. He has also given numerous presentations on ‘Response to the Active Killer’, personal and workplace safety to various organizations including local businesses, hospitals, religious organizations, and military facilities. These presentations provide attendees with basic knowledge and understanding of how to prepare, respond, and potentially prevent these acts from occurring in their facilities.
