Participants will enhance their financial acumen by attending this program, which will include: reviewing basic accounting principles, examining and analyzing financial statements and discussing how to prepare and monitor a program budget. Key finance terms and concepts, many contained on the CAE exam, will be reviewed.

 

After attending this session, you’ll be able to:

  • Read and understand a Statement of Activities (P&L Statements),Statement of Financial Position and a monthly budget variance report;
  • Prepare revenue budget items, expense budget items and discuss the overall budget process;
  • Apply definitions related to statements such as reserves, unrestricted net assets, accrual accounting vs. cash accounting and other terms.



CAE Domain and Credit Hours: CAE Domain 1 - Organizational Management; 1 hour
